Take a great appetizer and turn it into a pizza! Blend the sweetness of fig and balsamic with the saltiness of feta and prosciutto.
Fig and Prosciutto Pizza
Pizza Dough
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F)
1 tablespoon white sugar
2 ¼ t. active dry yeast
3 T. THE OLIVE MILL BASIL OIL
1 t. salt
2 ½ cups flour
Basil, Thyme or other seasonings, optional
Toppings
1 cup fresh figs, pureed
½ cup crumbled feta cheese
¼ lb. sliced prosciutto
THE OLIVE MILL FIG BALSAMIC, for drizzling
Preheat oven to 500 F. Stir water, sugar and yeast together until dissolved. Add the oil and salt, stir in flour until well blended. Let dough rest for 10 minutes. Pat dough onto pizza stone using fingers dipped in oil. If desired sprinkle basil, thyme or other seasonings on to crust. Spread pureed figs over crust for the “sauce”. Crumble feta cheese over fig layer. Arrange prosciutto slices evenly over cheese layer. Bake in oven until crust is crisp and browned, 15-20 minutes. Drizzle Fig Balsamic over pizza.
